SARASOTA -- A West Palm Beach man was arrested this week after being caught on camera stealing a woman's purse, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

According to a news release: A patron at the Beach Club told a manager early Tuesday that someone stole her purse. Security video showed the crime and other cameras showed the thief leaving the property.
The man returned to the bar, where security staff detained him until deputies arrived.
The victim's purse, phone and nearly $500 was recovered.
Keith Hernandez, 27, was arrested and charged with grand theft. He was released from jail on $5,000 bail.

"Watching this video shows how quickly a crime can occur," Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Wendy Rose said in the release. "It's also a good reminder to not leave purses unattended or carry large amounts of cash when it's not absolutely necessary."
